other advice (post new situation)
"taken advantage of"
a friend of a friend was referred to us to do some engine work on our car. To make a long story short, my husband trusted him and gave him money up front to cover cost of parts and some of his labor. There were excuses after excuses and now 6 weeks later, no car, and out 1200. The mechanic is avoiding us, of course, he's got his money why should he have to finish the job. I want to file a small claims suit against him but what real proof do I have it's his word against ours. Help. How should I go about it?
