family advice (post new situation)
"I can't donate my kidney to my brother."
My brother is in need of a kidney transplant. I started the process of finding out if I could be a living donor by having medical testing to see if I would be a match.

However, my children do not want me to donate. My husband of 31 years died a year ago and they are afraid of losing me.

I am also not an ideal candidate medically. After having some tests, I was advised that I am a "marginal" candidate - meaning that I could donate, but I may have medical issues later on in life.

After I told my brother that I would not be going ahead with the transplant, he and his wife became angry with me and have cut off communication.

I'm wondering if I should reach out to them or leave them alone.
