life advice (post new situation)
In a couple of days I will go back to FLA and finish nursing school. Mind you I have four months left. My insides are screaming. I'm not sure I have the strength to go back. In all honesty this is not what I want to do with my life. I'm afraid to foolow my dreams so I picked a profession which I love btw but one that is safe. What do I do? Can't stop crying!!!

I work in a medical office, not as a doctor or nurse. My official title is "Referral Coordinator." My advice is to finish nursing school. Once you have, you do not need to get a job as a nurse if you don't want to. But employers would be more impressed with someone who finished school as opposed to someone who almost finished school. And you would have something to fall back on should you need it. Once you have your degree, you can go in to other areas of the medical field if you'd like to. I'll use my job as an example. I started this job 18 yrs ago, not knowing anything about HMO's, PPO's, etc. All I had was basic medical terminology. But my employer took a chance on me, and I am very good at what I do. I learned from the ground up. However, if I were to look for another employer, I probably wouldn't be hired. Most hospitals and medical centers require their referral coordinators to be RN's. Anyway, my point is, once you finish school, you can get a job, and then start to pursue other avenues of things you may want to do. At least you will have the security of knowing that you are trained to one thing if other things don't work out! I hope this helps a bit. Good luck!
